The Forgotten Kingdom "'Le Royaume Oublié " is illuminated by Nancy and Philip Sarrazyn, creators of art and artisans, established in the heart of the historical village of Montségur since 2017.
Our activity and our passion is the creation of contemporary products with the illuminations and miniatures from the medieval period.

Illuminations and drawings
We specialize in creating illuminated drawings on contemporary objects.
Labels and logo's.
Decorative wooden panels for the garden and the house.

We work in the spirit of the great illuminators of the Middle Ages.
Since 2017 we have created collections of illuminations under the name of Montségur, Puivert, the Cathar Ritual, Cathar castles and pilgrimages on cards, bookmarks, notebooks, pendants, wooden panels and paintings.
Creations in wood and metal
For our creations we use local varieties of wood from our mountains and reclaimed wood from the saw mill.
Some of our creations are made in collaboration with the blacksmith Olivier Sarrazyn of the Liberati Forge.
Sisal and hemp baskets
The baskets are all handmade in our workshop in Montségur.
For the manufacture of our baskets we use natural vegetal fibres without treatment.
With sisal and hemp strings, and with the help of a hook, the baskets take their shape.
Creations with the lucette
Historically the lucette is a tool that dates back to the Viking era.
The typical form is the fork, constructed of wood, with two tips and a handle.
It has a Hole through wich the cord is pulled as the laces are made.
All our Lucettes are home made and on sale at the shop.
To start with the lucette you will find complete kits with an explanatory note.
For the finishes we have aiguillettes and buttons on sale at the shop.

We have a selection of new and second hand books in English, French, German and Dutch at our shop.

For a custom order do not hesitate to contact us or to tell us about it when you visit our shop in Montségur.
You are visiting the region but you can not take our creations with you, no problem, we ship your purchases to your home or to a pick-up point of your choice.
